[so i don't know where hua cheng and xie lian are but i assume the answer is "together," and wherever that might be - yona stumbles across them! ...she's carrying a mug of tea with her which is probably good because maybe if she drinks enough tea she'll stop sounding like a chainsmoker.
anyway, hi guys. she pauses when she passes through the doorway of wherever they are.]
...um, sorry. Am I interrupting?

[ We're just going to guess, like, coming into the dining hall while she's exiting. And obstructing traffic, absorbed in their discussion because it has been an eventful time, hasn't it.
But Hua Cheng pauses, turning his head to actually glance at her given he actually recognizes the voice. ]
[ The sound is what draws him into the forest. Not because it's suspicious, but because it's familiar. There'll be the sight of red retreating into the treeline, the soft, faint tinkling of silver charms and chains as he steps easily - because he has no intention of sneaking, in this case. Too many jumpy people after that trial.
It's where Xie Lian can find him, his arms crossed over his chest as he watches Yona from a distance at first. He doesn't want to disturb her when she's obviously working through some shit. At least, not yet. ]
[ hua cheng is xie lian's first target when the trial ends. how could he not be? as always, his presence is a comfort, and when he spots that red in the trees, he can't quite come to him right away - helping with virid and some of the others means xie lian's time is occupied.
it's a little way later that he joins hua cheng in the forest, following the sound of his quiet jingling. he's about to say something that he hears yona's arrow thunk into a tree. opening his mouth, and closing it, he glances up to hua cheng, and then out to yona, compassion and worry knitting his brow. ]
...How long have you been here? [ he asks, quietly, just loud enough for him to hear, so as not to interrupt miss yona right away. ]
Long enough. I was waiting for her to run out of arrows.
[ Hua Cheng doesn't - get concerned about people. He cares about Xie Lian, and worries for him, and little else. What other people do with themselves is none of his business, unless they make it their business by getting on his bad side. In this town, all he wants is to get him and Dianxia home, and quickly.
But.
He watches Yona quietly, twisting the end of his braid between his fingers. ]
Her form is good, not that I've had a particular interest in bows.
Mn. [ it is good. xie lian makes a soft noise in agreement, his eyes briefly flicking from yona to hua cheng's fingers at the end of his braid, and back again.
when yona's down to a single arrow, xie lian steps forward. ]
Miss Yona. [ his voice is soft, gentle, staying at a distance. ] Your aim is quite impressive.
[nah, just kidding. she doesn't actually shoot him.
instead, she lowers her bow and tucks her remaining arrow back into her sash (since she doesn't have a quiver), then turns toward the sound of xie lian's voice. her gaze flicks from xie lian to hua cheng, and she nods to them both in greeting.]
Ah... good evening, both of you. [a beat.] ...thank you. I've been practicing a lot.
Anyways. Hua Cheng huffs, staying where he is and letting Xie Lian be the one to go closer. At least, at first. He does raise his hand in response to her nod, though, offering a soft hum of thought and consideration. ]
[ Here comes Hua Cheng, to answer the door, which has had people knocking on it off and on for a good portion of the day. Seeing Yona - isn't surprising, really.
There's a wry look on his face, when he sees her, but he gives a jerk of his head to indicate she can come in, stepping aside to let her. ]
[ yeah. today sucks. xie lian's sitting with hua cheng, leaning against his side. he's changed into his ferret kigurumi, and when he sees it's yona, he gives her an exhausted smile. there's a flower crown sitting in his lap. ]
[...yeah that's. that's about what she expected from them both, all things considered.
yona steps into the room, and her expression is concerned as she looks from xie lian to hua cheng. after a moment, she tilts her head to one side and mimes drinking something from a small cup.
[ It's fine, really, because Hua Cheng - can guess. He's been playing this game all day, when not using his PHS or mouthing the words. Except refusing to do charades for bigger things, because, no, he has the notes app for that.
[ A small wave of his hand in response - they can wait! They will be here. He nudges Xie Lian a little, though, like he's letting him know that he doesn't have to play into their being mute.
When she comes back with the tea, Hua Cheng will go ahead and serve it like he's not the damn Ghost King or anything. ]
[surprise! it's poisoned! time for hualian to die.
no, i'm kidding.
anyway, yona smiles gratefully at hua cheng when he serves the tea. wow, how thoughtful! she looks between the two of them, her expression concerned, though. it was pretty obvious that hua cheng enjoyed sumi's company, and xie lian did seem close to shiro, so...
[another friday, another murder, another missed body.....
another "whoops, found yona out in the woods shooting arrows" night.
the only difference is this time she's wearing sunglasses? it's fine, don't worry about it. never mind she can't hear shit. she doesn't hear them coming. she's just shooting at a tree.]
[ Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are - looking, for traces of Hikaru. He's not particularly fazed by Alyssa's death, but it shouldn't be surprising, given the fact that his entire focus has narrowed down to the missing girl. But there's not much that they can find, or do. It's caused so much energy to build up in him that it's a wonder that no one senses them coming.
But Yona might notice them, when her arrow startles Hua Cheng's spinosaurus when she strikes a tree. The creature reeeee's, scrabbling out of where it's been nestled in the neck of his robes, scratching its owner and causing him to hiss.

Hello, Miss Yona! We were just talking, would you like to join us?

I've been drinking a lot of this... it's been helping. [also, honey works wonders? wow.] Sure, I'd like to join you. What were you talking about?

The technology here, actually. We don't have this in any of the three realms, or, at least, anywhere near this level.
