[Looking at the stars in the night sky had been one thing, but looking at them out the window here in space is quite another. She finds him lingering by one of the windows, and she can't help but stop a moment to admire the view, too.]

But even still, I am intrigued to know that humans have created a system allowing them to explore the stars in this way.

...it's amazing, isn't it? We don't have anything like this where I come from, but if this is what people can make... maybe someday we will. I want to learn enough about it to bring the knowledge of it back to my homeland.

Not to make light of our lives, but to bring the dead in service of the living is not a new concept. Some would argue it is better that way -- to lose us would not harm the living, after all.

Yes, it would.

Even if you were dead before, you're alive now, aren't you? You're breathing, and your heart is beating, and you're able to talk with people. You count as "the living".

...and even if you don't think you do, losing you now would hurt the people who are left behind.
