Even for Yona, who is unfortunately used to seeing people die, that's a lot. So she can only imagine how hard it must be for some of the others. Mob in particular seemed to be struggling during the trial, so -
She's off to find him, after she's had a chance to cool off. She's got her bow with her now, and some arrows tucked into her sash, for lack of a quiver.
When she finds him (wherever that may be!), she looks concerned.]
[He doesn't really know how to answer that question, because he doesn't know himself? It takes him a long time to process disturbing things. He has to think them through, let them sit, decide how to feel about them. For now, he's just a little serious and blank.]
Did you understand? Why he did something like that?
[You like the ruins, Yona? If she's still hanging out near there, she can find a boy on a mission. A mission to where? He isn't honestly sure, but there's an expression on his face like he's intensely focused on something incredibly important and has no time for anything else.
He's walking very deliberately into the ruins. Seems like a bad idea?]
[This is probably a horrible idea, yeah! Unfortunately, she's lost her voice this week, so when she sees Mob heading into the ruins, the best she can do is heft up her bow and head in after him.
She'll cover his back while he does whatever he's going in there to do!]
[What a bro-na. He's just going to walk in without regard for traps or danger, dodging out of the way whenever something nearly hits him. This strategy seems to work okay for about five minutes, before he steps on something that starts to shoot arrows at him and dodges too slowly?
Go ahead, Britt. I know you want to do it. Kill her.]
[Well, as you said, he's Mob will be knocking on Yona's door. Unfortunately, she's not in there - it's difficult, to go back to a room shared with someone who is most likely dead - but she is swinging by to grab a change of clothes for when she finds somewhere else to spend the night.
That's when she spots him, knocking.
She still can't talk, so she taps on his shoulder instead.]
[How to explain this, to someone whose only answer can be [looks inquisitive.] How to explain it all in only one tag.]
I wanted to find you, because. . . I have been thinking lately, about the things that people have done for me. [After all, a lot of people have done a lot of things for him this week, including Yona.]
There was one week, when my roommate died. I didn't want to trouble anyone about it, but I didn't like it very much, being alone after someone had died.
[What's UP Mob it's a new week and that means new shenanigans. Yona is trying very hard to avoid popping the memory bubbles, but, you know, shit happens! Sometimes when you're waving to someone a bubble drifts right in front of your hand, and then you find yourself in a desolate-looking village three minutes into that video I'm sorry Siz crunchy won't let me send timestamps in links.
"This village has been abandoned by the generals and the king."
One of Yona's companions explains it - the land has been barren and dry for ages, and most if not all of the men were taken to be trained as soldiers. Disease plagued the village, and those who weren't well enough to leave had no choice but to die here. It's awful, and Yona says so in her memory.
The explanation is interrupted by a coughing, sickly man. Yoon tells Yona to stay back lest she get sick while offers water, medicine, and fruit, but she ignores him and helps the man sit up.
And then the man goes on to badmouth the previous king.
"They say a new king has been crowned. I wonder what he's like..."
Hak steps forward, and she glances back at him and shakes her head.
"The previous king, Il, was a terrible king."
Yona's eyes widen and she sucks in a breath. To hear this man tell it, King Il crumbled under pressure from other kingdoms, couldn't keep the five clans united, and allowed the kingdom to fall into chaos because he was too focused on keeping the peace to take action needed to bring people together.
"He wouldn't even save weak commoners like us. Whose king was he supposed to be?"
...he thanks Yona, then, for her help, and she tells him to take care before she and her group continue on their way. Mob may not immediately know why she's rubbing at her eyes as they walk, but it will become a little more obvious as she breaks away to "use the bathroom" - she just vanishes around a corner, still within earshot of her companions, who discuss what just happened.
"I couldn't say anything. I didn't think highly of King Il, either. But to Yona, he was her only flesh and blood."
"It is likely no one grieves for the late king. He will go down in history as a foolish king. No one cares about a single princess."
"You're right. A word without weaponry and war, where no one gets hurt, is but a pipe dream. But I could never think of the king as a fool for his unwavering belief that such a world was ideal. He hid his own wounds. I didn't see him as a coward at all. I would never serve a fool. I'll probably regret my inability to protect him at Hiryuu Castle for the rest of my life."
"You acknowledged King Il as your master, regardless of the fact that he was Yona's father."
"Of course."
Anyway, memshare ends at 7:43 when she picks up the squirrel and cries on it.]
[That memory seemed pretty personal! Yikes! No, he never knows how to react to other people's feelings, but it's been something he's been trying to get better at, so after it ends, however she's feeling, he'll reach out and try to take her hand.]
Yona-san. . .
[Apparently Yona is a princess? But also, her father died and people are talking about him badly?]
She looks up - briefly startled by the contact - and she manages a very, very small smile. It still hurts, knowing what people thought of her father. What hurts more is the fact that after everything she's seen, she can't necessarily disagree with all of it.
He was a kind, loving person, but there were so many people who suffered under his reign.]
. . . Is it bad that I'm a little happy I died? [Hmm.] I'm not glad I upset my friends, but. . . now we can just help collect the nova instead of worrying about all of those other things.
...but, right now she's kind of thinking that she can't tell if he actually means that or if he's just trying to make her feel better about accidentally killing him.]
I trust the others to get things right and bring us back. [...] I just hope... I don't know. I hope that the people who have to be killed, and the people who have to kill them, don't suffer too much.

Did you understand? Why he did something like that?

I don't understand it at all. I didn't think he would. And then, he... did it again, right there in front of anyone, and we couldn't... stop him.
