Thank you. I would not have your work be for naught, if that came to pass.

Well, it will depend on who it is. If they offer, I will hardly turn them down.

[but, you know, he expects people to be pissed if he pulls a kano.]

I do not know how both of us would, but... maybe your hope will be rewarded in some fashion.

I would not expect you to simply give up your own life for mine, no, but if that is how you would have it... I will accept.

So we would.

[a slight hint of a smile, at that.]

May others be so gracious about it, if 'tis not by your hand that I am set to die.

Well, that has never been a concern for my kind anyway. It is simply an annoyance to be forced to start again somewhere else.

Ah- our souls are rather persistent, you see, and do not dissipate with our bodies. The body you see me in now is a vessel, one of many I have occupied over the eons.

[just waving a hand, casually!]

I have 'died' many times before. Even should my soul be trapped elsewhere, 'twill be no great change.

[hence why he's fine with just planning what he's going to do over there, if nothing happens to allow him to live.]

More akin to... possession, we shall say, though I must clarify there are not truly souls inhabiting the vessels we use before we take hold of them. I have always remained myself, with my own soul intact; 'tis only the body that changes.

...so there are. I should like to see some of them, eventually, and compare them to my own.
