...I talked to my Leader earlier in the week, and they said... they should be able to protect us, if something happened.
[she frowns.]
But they might have just been trying to convince me to rest because of my burns. They didn't seem to be anticipating something like this, but I guess I don't really know them well enough to say for sure.
[...she'd like to believe she can count on them, but - hajime is dead, so. what are they going to do about that?]
Well... they didn't say it quite like "body and soul," but. They said participants aren't supposed to fight each other, which I think is why there aren't really any weapons around.
[it sort of makes sense, since they're supposed to be cooperating.]
We were talking about training, though, and they said the whole not supposed to fight thing didn't really take into account training or threats, but that they would be able to protect us if it came to that. Their stance looked like they'd had some kind of training, at least.
There aren't 'really'.... but... [he glances at the wooden bow in her hand, followed by - ] Some others here received weapons from home, while others received only keepsakes.
There's a chance that's random as well - but you would think that'd be a security check to perform.
[even king il made a better attempt at removing weapons from the country at that - not that it stopped the black market, but hey. points for bare minimum effort.]
Then there's a possibility that the Leaders themselves were also incapacitated last night.
[yona makes a face when he mentions that some people have ended up with keepsakes.]
...I'd like to ask them, but they aren't responding. They're probably busy, though, since they said they were investigating the disturbance.
[and possibly trying to avoid getting blamed for what happened, she thinks. many of them had assumed they'd been kidnapped by them at the beginning (she's sure some of them still think that), so she can't exactly blame them if they are concerned about that.]

Is that what they said? Interesting.
[what a bold statement]
And they stated that they would protect you, body and soul, and not just your memories? They must have had very high hopes for their capabilities.
