well, that's not entirely accurate. she's not where he left her, but she hasn't left the emporium entirely - just sitting and waiting for him to come back makes her feel restless, so while she waits for him to return, she sets the sunglasses down, and gets up to go finish exploring.
it does look like the emporium is empty, but then there's the sound of some keychains clinking together as she turns a display, looking over the names on them.
soo-won went to go get water. he thinks about not coming back, actually. he does. he thinks about telling someone else who is very kind to give the girl with red hair in the emporium some water. in fact, he's very close to doing that. he's decided to do that, as he finishes fetching a glass of water and then -
his feet move before his head gets a chance to bargain. she's missing from where he left her last, and he thinks about her strained voice, and he moves again without a moment to rest.
when he hears the keychains and spots her hair -
it's hard to say that his heart settles. it doesn't. it twists. but it isn't a cold twist. there is relief, intermingled with the pain.
he doesn't interrupt her, he only clears his throat to get her attention and - ]
Lena.
Your water.
[he holds the glass out to her - crystal clear, nothing could be floating in it]
[at first, he doesn't think anything is wrong. but soo-won is the type of person to take precautions, of course. he doesn't write down anything incriminating, he doesn't make note of any of his secrets. he writes what he thinks is important for a king to know.
so perhaps that's why he finds himself puzzling over the device in his hand now as he walks down the hall. most of this information is still in his mind - that's a relief - but one piece is missing.
certainly, he logically had to have been the person to written this down. no one would else have access to his device. but.... why would he write this, when he doesn't recall it?
it seems like there's some truth in what they'd been saying. though the sound of footsteps approaches manages to get him to look up -
and he remembers what he said before, to some others. that he is choosing not to pursue yona, that it's for the best if they don't cross paths. but as he sees her now, he can't remember why that is.
it makes his mind feel fuzzy. so instead he stops, and stares, and reaches his hand out as though he means to catch her own -
before he notices himself and pulls back, offering a look that can only be called sheepish]
[the truth is, yona doesn't immediately notice that anything is wrong with her memories.
when she rises from bed that morning, everything seems normal enough. she looks through her phs to read up on the new information and the alerts, heads to the inn's kitchen to get something to eat, and as she finishes up her meal, decides that her first order of business should probably be to try and make contact with the leaders -
only to run into soo-won in the hall as she's doubling back to make sure she didn't leave anything behind in her room that she might need.
it's only when she sees him that she realizes something is slightly... off. what surges through her when she spots him is delight - but if that's the case, why were they so awkward when they ran into each other in the emporium a few days ago...?
...it's strange. it's very strange. was something about this place messing with their minds even back then?
without thinking about it (and, partially because of the way this place is making them affectionate), she reaches for his hand as he pulls back.]
here's yona, walking back from where people have been dropping off evidence (and hajime's body). she's gripping a wooden bow very tightly in one hand, and clenching her other hand into a fist. she doesn't look happy, but then, who would be happy to hear that someone's just been killed?
she is really, really tired of surprise killings.
she spots soo-won in her peripheral vision as she's heading toward the inn, and looks up. her expression is a mixture of furious and terrified, but it's not really directed at him - her face was like that before she saw him.]
[soo-won is watching - noting what's been collected, who's bringing it back, trying to determine all that he can from observing that much.
it takes him a beat longer to respond to yona than it normally would - because it took a beat longer for him to hear it.]
Yona.
[he looks to her - and he's not sure if he's ever seen this face in particular before. perhaps in awa - though even that memory doesn't make sense to him. hadn't she wanted to kill him then? but why?
. . . but he can tell he's not the origin of her ire this time, and he walks toward her after a moment. the question he offers is sincere and plain:]
it takes a while - a long while. and it would appear that after all his avoidance, after all his searching, after a full day of running around in circles - he's out of breath.
so he's actually tucked somewhere in the shadows outside, a hand pressed against his chest uncomfortably as he tries to quietly regain his breath. though as he shifts, he ends up caught in a bit of moonlight, easier to spot.
bad. that's really bad? if there's anything she's just not mentally prepared to handle after all of that, it's soo-won looking like he's having trouble breathing. yona's heading out from the inn, her bow in hand, but when she spots him she sure as heck does run straight for him.]
Soo-won...?!
[just. reaching out with shaking hands to help steady him.]
[yona shakes her head. she's tense, but - not as tense as she could be. certainly not as tense as she was in awa.
what happened out there doesn't feel like quite like justice, but she can't really put her finger on why. it just doesn't sit right with her. virid had certainly needed to be held responsible for what he did, but...]
...I don't remember anything. At least... nothing feels different. [...] After what he said, I was expecting to.
it looks like the right arm and legs of his jedi robes seem a bit tattered??? don't worry about it. none of that is going to stop him from going to see yona]
Yona.
Where shall we search next?
[given that he can assume what is causing her recklessness]
anyway, yona is just coming out of the emporium, where she ducked into after dropping off cater's body. there may be a little blood on her jedi robes from carrying her. here's hoping i don't forget to mention that at trial tomorrow. it's fine.]
...I want to go and do a thorough search of the... space... area.
[the spaceship. they can start with the vr room, maybe.]
yona's out here already - she brought her bow and arrows to the execution, so she heads straight there first thing. she needs to think, but just sitting and thinking isn't productive. she can think just as well while she practices.
so.
up ahead of wherever he's walking, he'll here the thwip of an arrow being fired, and then the thunk of it sticking to a tree trunk - and then catch a flash of red as yona darts forward to retrieve the arrow (and all her others) from it.]
admittedly he doesn't look well but - it seems that rather than finding trouble, he was looking for a quiet spot to stay for the moment. when she goes to recollect her arrows, he offers a smile]
it actually looks like the bites have gotten worse, somehow. yona's in the process of re-bandaging her legs. one is still wrapped in the old bandages, but the other is halfway wrapped in new ones, and...
...the bites look a lot more like gross, pus-filled welts now.
[yona stumbles across soo-won outside, shortly after the trial - and as you said, he's fighting off a headache! which she's seen before, which of course has her immediately worried.
she keeps her voice soft so as not to aggravate it.]
[he is fighting off a headache!! he's a bit further away from everyone, as if trying to make sure they can't find him, though to his credit his hands are fumbling with some medicine
when he hears her voice he shrinks away at first before - managing a brief, breathless laugh as if caught]
but soo-won will just wave back - it seems like soo-won is also just hanging out with some tea. there's a tray in front of him with a pot and a few empty cups.
wherever soo-won happens to be, yona will come and look for him on monday morning. when she spots him, she raises a hand in greeting, but her expression is still somewhat serious.]
to his credit, he doesn't avoid her. but he does pause a bit when he sees her, rather than immediately offering up a smile. still, he does his best to relax in the next moment and smiles.... slightly.]
it's pretty gruesome, actually, so yona's here in the kitchen, making tea that she hopes will help settle her stomach. when she hears footsteps, she looks up.]
[for once, he's distracted - it seems like there's a photograph in his hand as he walks into the kitchen and when he's startled he quickly moves to put the photograph away.
his fingers fumble.
a photograph falls to the ground before he goes to collect it - ]
in the kitchen, ready to have the world's most awkward tea party. yona doesn't seem to know what to say, although she does feel like she probably should say something.]
[such an awkward tea party, but at least the tea is very floral and very fragrant. oh, classic earth tribe. he'll pour them both some cups before reaching for one to take a sip from.
there, proof it's not poisoned!
and then eventually, he'll manage the words that he knows he will probably never be able to speak at home.]
