[well, yona's heading into the planetarium... she's got an apple in one hand! she doesn't seem to be expecting anyone else to be here, but. here emet is!]
I can understand wanting to limit the bloodshed, but I can't understand yelling at someone for being prepared. Who knows how much blood would have been shed if he'd come out of that fighting? Wasn't watching and doing nothing bad enough last week?
Had no one been prepared to incapacitate him, someone less capable could have been taken off their guard.
[one of the shoujos or shounens who was too upset to actually fight back-- and then it really would have become a problem. he exhales a sigh of his own, with a shake of his head.]
There really are too many here who simply are not suited to this pressure. At times, the best action is not what is kindest.
They will not have a full year, or at least I should certainly hope we will not be here so long. Time, too, is necessary for growth, just as much as circumstance.
But it is possible that having someone here who has overcome it already may help.
I learned in much less than a full year. But if I hadn't learned quickly, a year ago, I'd probably be dead right now. And I think my circumstances were probably less dire than this.
[so... people will learn. sink or swim.]
People are capable of a lot more than they think they are. They just have to recognize that, first, so they can actually improve instead of saying "I can't do it".
...I don't know about that. It's one of those things where if they can't do it I'll probably get really annoyed, since I know firsthand it's supposed to be possible.
Well, the patience to begin to try it certainly counts for something. You cannot help those who don't help themselves as well-- annoyance would be more than understandable.
[he's quiet for a moment, there, before he exhales a breath and just leans back against the planetarium wall. just going to chill here a while, apparently.]
Well, good luck with it, in any case. I would not keep you overlong.
w1, sunday
[well, yona's heading into the planetarium... she's got an apple in one hand! she doesn't seem to be expecting anyone else to be here, but. here emet is!]
...Emet-Selch, right? Sorry, am I interrupting?
no subject
[no answer on whether she's interrupting, but he at least won't ask her to go, nor does he sound particularly annoyed with her presence.]
Yona, wasn't it? I suppose it is a good thing this was not your week to be chosen.
no subject
[she'd have kicked his ass! hypothetically. jeanne did that pretty well, too.]
I can't really blame him for not wanting to just stand there and take it, but...
[that had definitely been hard to watch.]
no subject
[it's something inherent to many people, that they either wish to live or just won't go quietly.]
But it certainly almost caused quite the mess.
no subject
[yona sighs. heavily.]

But I guess that's not so good when they're stuck in a situation like this. I wish they didn't have to be.
...they'll learn, but I'm worried that they might learn too late.
no subject
[he has- less faith, in the resilience of some of their number.]
no subject
...if I could learn, they definitely can.
no subject
[that gets a slight tilt of his head.]

I was probably worse than them. If this was a year ago, I would definitely be one of the people we're complaining about.

[but she's never been very good at giving up on people]

[he would probably call it time to give up much sooner than she would...]

[well
she'll leave the planetarium and come back to make a wish to talk to a Leader later!]
